C8RallyDriver.com relaunching with GM Licensed Corvette C8 Trunk Covers!
6th Jul 2022
Welcome to the Relaunch of C8RallyDriver.com!
We've been working on a few things... and it's been quite a journey getting these few things completed.
- New website design with new content & new products
- The C8Trunk Cover is now an Officially Licensed Corvette Accessory!
- New Product Launch - "Boomerang-Style" C8 Corvette Hatch Supports
- Second New Product Launch - "Stealth-mount" low-profile Carbon Fiber Rear Strut Covers
True Story. Corvette marketing called us when they heard about the C8RallyDriver trunk cover solution for engine bay detailing and car shows. Apparently, a few of our C8 friends have inquired directly with GM about their engine bays getting dirty - especially when driving in the winter, rain or from pollen and dust accumulation. Imagine that, lol. These cars are literally vacuum cleaners. The only part of the underbody that isn't covered with aero panels is under the LT2 V-8 engine. The engine bay literally vacuums up dust and dirty road mist on rainy days when driving. When not in motion, rain falls right into the deck vents on the rear hatch.
There is no escape, so just embrace the design and use the drainage holes at all four corners of the rear deck as GM intended. Water and dirt will get in there and GM knew it when they designed the car. GM has conveniently provided instructions for engine bay washing on page 275 - in the Appearance/Exterior Care section of the Corvette C8 Owner's Manual. However, GM also forgot that the carpeted rear cargo area will fill up with water and grime if you try to wash the underside of the rear hatch or deck. Just an oversight, but the solution is a simple snap-on cover to protect the trunk on wash days. Even if you don't wash the engine directly, this licensed accessory is perfect for washing the rear deck, rear window, and the surround in minutes. Use a leaf blower to blow off excess water and apply protective coatings. Done.
Two New Products by C8RallyDriver Design Originals
We started working on these two products about a year ago. Feels that long too. The "Boomerang-Style" Rear Hatch Supports are machined 6061 aluminum and provide a lighter weight hatch support that looks 100% better than the stock stamped steel hatch supports. The design mimics the boomerang style air vents on the doors and will compliment other engine appearance accessories. These supports can be custom painted but will come standard in either anodized or powder coated black, bright red, or clear/silver finishes. Available for pre-order now for delivery in August.
Last but not least is the "Stealth-Mount" Carbon Fiber Rear Strut Covers. We set out with three goals to design this product. The C8RallyDriver strut covers are designed to be low-profile, require no visible screws/nuts to mount or rust, and fully encapsulate the strut tower to prevent dirt and water buildup. This is the only product on the market that accomplishes all three of these goals. The covers are over-engineered, with production involving pre-preg carbon fiber that is oriented to spec and autoclaved to produce the lightest and strongest products available. These can be ordered with or without the mag-ride option in a high-gloss carbon fiber finish.
All of these products are 100% manufactured in the USA and will fit the upcoming 2023 Z06 - so no reason to wait - it could be a while. Yeesh!
